A
griddles can be one of the most versatile pieces of equipment in your kitchen. You can grill, braise, saute meat & vegetables. Pancakes, eggs for breakfast, hamburgers & sandwiches for lunch & steaks & shrimp for dinner. Multiple uses all day long!
Your griddle should be maintained from the time it is purchased. With daily cleaning by using brushes,
grill scraper & grill bricks you can reduce the amount of heavy cleaning.
Remember a cooking surface that is not clean can not conduct heat to the food very well, leading to longer cook times & inconsistent heating.
Be sure to use a grill brick after scraping & toweling off grease & debris. A grill brick is like brushing your teeth, it keeps the surface polished. Polished metal conducts heat well, that is why chromed griddles are used by professionals. Use the grill brick evenly across the entire surface, avoid working in just one spot, you can wear out a low spot! Use a towel or grill brick holder to protect your hand. After scrubbing grill with grill brick, wipe down & steam off surface with a moistened towel. Repeat as necessary.
If griddle has a buildup of residue we suggest use of a
grill scraper as much as possible & then apply Carbon Off brand cleaner. Be sure to follow the instructions exactly, this stuff really works well when used correctly. Well worth the investment! You may also want to consider a grill thermometer if you do not have a thermostatic griddle. Manual griddles require some adjustments on temperature during operation to maintain temps. A grill thermometer lays flat on the cooking surface and will assist you keeping a uniform cooking temperature.
Remember clean griddles mean food cooks faster & better resulting in happier cooks & higher profits! Check out our grill accessories tab on the cooking equipment pages.
